CM launched AP FiberNet
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has signed one more major digital initiative. He has launched AP Fiber Net in Visakhapatnam. With this the government is in plans to offer internet with high speed at low cost in AP.
A broadband connection with 15 Mbps speed will be provided at Rs 149 per month and 100 Mbps connections to offices at Rs 999 per month. These rates are substantially lower than what other internet service providers currently charge.
AP has partnered with John Chambers, executive chairman of Cisco for making this project a reality. Speaking at the launch event John said this was planned by Naidu ten years ago but now it became a reality after he took the charge as CM again.
At present Fiber Net will be available in Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam and Vizianagaram. but it will be extended across the State before July.
