Congress has no right to talk : Harish Rao
Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao on Thursday said the TRS government was giving top priority to farmers in the State. Addressing a party meeting at Boath in Adilabad district attended by Ministers A Indrakaran Reddy, Jogu Ramanna and MP Nagesh, Harish Rao alleged that Telangana was meted out gross injustice in undivided State and the district was denied a Minister’s post for any leader.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had affection for the district and gave two Ministers to it to develop the district besides providing 24 hours of power, he said. Expressing happiness over lakes getting full waters due to rains caused by thick forest, he said the government would construct 49 storage houses and complete all the projects in the district.
The government would spend Rs 1 lakh crore for projects and Rs 91,000 crore for power over four years, he said. The Minister ridiculed the Congress and the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) for protesting against Lower Penganga project which would be completed soon to supply water to the crops.
The TDP and the Congress had no right to talk on farmers woes, he said, adding that the Congress did not complete even a single project during its rule. Harish asked the farmers to remain courageous to face the problems as the government was with them to help and extend cooperation for better crops by restoring all the lakes in Boath constituency. Harish said Gupthi project in the area would be completed on getting detailed project report.
