Hyd set to turn a swanky city
IT Minister K Taraka Rama Rao reiterated that Hyderabad has all the opportunities to become an international city which will have the best infrastructure and facilities.
He was speaking after laying the foundation stone for phase III of Krishna Drinking Water Supply Project and laying of black topping of roads at a programme here.
Speaking on the occasion, the IT Minister said that the city would become a world class destination with best amenities such as water, power, roads and sewerage.
While 1,000 mm dedicated water pipeline in Madhapur will be laid at a cost of Rs 25 crore connecting Raidurgam and Madhapur, re-carpeting of roads will be taken up at an estimated cost of Rs 16 crore, the minister maintained.
Hi-tec City and Madhapur areas will soon get a facelift, he said, adding that the State was committed to provide basic amenities to the city on par with international standards.
“The State is planning to build a suspension bridge over Durgam Cheruvu near Inorbit Mall to connect Road No 45 to ease traffic congestion. Soon tenders will be floated for this Rs 175 crore project,” he said.
“Three-and-a-half lakh street lamps in the ’s jurisdiction will have LED lights. This we will be taken up at a cost of Rs 500 crore. We may start this project from the Serlingampally Constituency,” he added.
KTR also informed that the government was planning to supply four LED bulbs to each of the 20 lakh households in the GHMC limits.
“It will cost us Rs 80 crore. Whether we charge or give it free of cost, those details will have to be worked out,” he informed.
To improve infrastructure facilities further in IT Parks in Madhapur, the State government and TSIIC Limited have taken up works of re-carpeting of roads in Madhapur with ITE&C department’s funds for a length of 7.70 km from IALA-Madhapur.
For water supply, the HMWS&SB has taken up the work of laying 1000 mm diameter MS dedicated pipeline from Raidurgam Junction tapping KDWSP Phase-III to Madhapur.
Transport Minister Mahender Reddy, Serilingampally MLA Arekapudi Gandhi, GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar, Cyberabad Police Commissioner CV Anand, HMWS&SB Managing Director Dr B Janardhan Reddy and TSIIC VC & MD EV Narasimha Reddy participated in the event.
