Jayalalitha requests Modi !!
Once again 14 fishermen from Tamil Nadu were arrested by Sri Lankan Navy, Chief Minister Jayalalithaa urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take immediate action to secure their release.
She wrote a letter to PM Modi and in the letter she has requested Modi to bring back the fishermen safely back to the Nation. She also requested to bring the 50 boats which are in Sri Lanka custody. As per reports the 14 fisher men were arrested along with three motor boats on November 18th.
In her statement, Jayalalitha said, "I request you to take immediate action through diplomatic channels to secure the release of the 14 Indian fishermen and 50 boats which were impounded in Srilankan custody."
Jayalalitha also said earlier 47 fishing boats were snatched and they are also yet to be returned. A fisherman said, Tamil Nadu chief Minister is taking some steps as election dates are closing by. The impounded boats will be a waste one due to irreparable damage as they were disused for a long period.
