Raashi Khanna revealed Supreme highlights !!
Raashi Khanna is arriving in a cop's role, an amusing role at that. In this interview, the cute actress talks about what went into preparing for the role, working with Sai Dharam Tej, dancing for "Andam Hindolam", the remix, and why 'Supreme' is a family entertainer that should be watched with kids.
What kind of a cop are you playing in 'Supreme'?
I am playing the role of a cop named Bellam Sridevi in this film. Comedy is in built into the character. I hope I will get good name as a comedy actor after this film. The first half is very hilarious. People will love my introduction scene.
So, did you do any homework for the role?
Yes, I did. As I am very shy, it's difficult to do comedy. Anil Ravipudi conveyed what he wanted very well. I watched certain cop roles played by Vijayashanthi. Besides, I watched some Hollywood movies to get a grip on the body language, diction, etc. I was challenged by this role. I myself was surprised that I could pull it off. I also shed some weight before coming to the sets. I don't know how many kilos did I shed because I don't measure my weight.
As a cop, have you done action sequences?
Yes, I have (Smiles). In one of the scenes, Sai Dharam Tej was looking at me shocked. Usually, it's the hero who has an introduction fight in our films. Here, it's the heroine who has one.
What are the major highlights of the movie?
I would say the story line is excellent. There are scenes which will make you cry. The child artist who has played a key role cried for real on the sets! I was pleasantly shocked to see him be so realistic. I would describe 'Supreme' as a complete family entertainer that must be watched with your kids.
Sai Dharam Tej is a very good dancer. How difficult was it to match up to him?
I watched "Andam Hindolam", the original number. I felt it was very difficult to dance like that. There is not a single frame where Radha is not seen in that song. Sai Dharam Tej worked really hard for the number. I think I matched up to him. An an actor, too, he gets into the skin of his character quite easily.
You have described Anil Ravipudi as an all-rounder. What makes you say so?
He is tremendously involved in what he does. He is the best director with whom I have worked. He makes it clear at the outset what he wants and ensures he gets that.
When not shooting for a film, what do you do?
I write poetry, for example. I don't like to talk about my personal life much.
Like Rakul Preet Singh, you have bought a house in Hyderabad. How do you find this city?
I am loving Hyderabad. I want to settle down in here.
Any plans to do films in other languages?
Yes, I want to work in Kollywood. I am waiting for the right script to come my way. Bollywood is not on my mind, though.
What are your upcoming projects?
'Oxygen', where I am paired up with Gopichand, is my next film. Besides that, I have a film with Ravi Teja in the pipeline.
