Reliance's Jio makes world record with 16M Users
Reliance Jio has taken the telecom industry by storm. Jio on Sunday claimed that it has created "a world record" by crossing the 16 million subscriber mark in its first month of operations - September. The Jio Welcome Offer was earlier rolled out for all on September 5, and has since achieved the fastest growth than any other telecom operator or start up in the world including Facebook, WhatsApp and Skype, it said. We are delighted and humbled by the overwhelming response across India to the Jio Welcome Offer.
Jio is built to empower every Indian with the power of data," said Mukesh Ambani, chairman of Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL). "We are delighted that people have recognised this and are utilising our services to the fullest. We are customer-obsessed and committed to improving every day to exceed expectations of our customers." Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) is touting Jio as the world's most affordable 4G telecom service. The company promises 1GB of 4G LTE data at as little as Rs 50, if you were to average things out from one of its tariff plans.
