Sex trafficking racket busted !!
With the arrest of two persons, Delhi Police on Friday claimed to have busted a gang which allegedly abducted girls and forced them into prostitution, and rescued a 16-year-old girl here from the clutches of the two men.
The due identified as Afroz Ahmed alias Sonu and Radhe Kumar, allegedly used to lure girls from railway stations -- particularly those hailing from Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and West Bengal -- on the pretext of jobs and shelter, and later forced them into prostitution, police said.
Acting on a tip-off that the duo was spotted along with a minor girl in Sarai Kale Khan area, police laid a trap and apprehended them, said Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Alok Kumar.
The minor, a native of Unnav district in Uttar Pradesh, told the police that she met Sonu at New Delhi railway station two days after she came to Delhi, where he promised her a job. But on December 12, Sonu allegedly took her to a park where he sold her to a procurer named Radhe Gupta, police said. While Radhe Kumar turned out to be Sonu's associate, the police are looking for others in the gang, including Radhe Gupta.
A case has been registered and efforts are on to rescue other girls allegedly trafficked by the gang, police added.
