Shashank Mohan elected as ICC Chairman
The BCCI in its 85th Annual General Meeting held here has re-appointed Shashank Mohan as ICC Chairman in place of N.Srinivasan who has been removed.
Shashank Vyankatesh Manohar was born on September 29, 1957 and a lawyer currently serving as the President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India. He was elected as president of the BCCI unopposed in the special general meeting called by the Board in October 2015 following demise of Jagmohan Dalmiya.
Shashank Manohar comes from a family of Lawyers. He is the eldest son of Sandhya & V R Manohar. A legal luminary of his time, VR Manohar was the Advocate General of Maharashtra during the Chief ministership of Sharad Pawar & also has served as the President of Vidarbha Cricket Association. His paternal grandfather RK Manohar was also a lawyer & was associated with Bharatiya Jana Sangh and he contested election on its ticket.
