Tough choice for TRS in Warangal by-poll
The aspirants for the Warangal by-election are pressuring the TRS leadership and this is making things difficult for the ruling party.
Deputy CM Kadiam Srihari who vacated the seat clarified that neither his daughter nor any family member would contest the by-poll but urged the TRS leadership to choose a candidate from his community as Warangal constituency has a large population of Madigas. However, the Kakatiya University JAC objected to Srihari’s statements and said that Warangal constituency has a large population of Malas and the TRS should select the candidate from their community.
Meanwhile, the Congress is making all attempts to win the by-election and teach the ruling party a lesson. Though the party hasn’t finalised a candidate, the Telangana PCC is doing the ground work needed for the by-poll.
On the other hand, the Warangal by-election has ignited a rift between the BJP and Telangana TDP. Both the parties want to contest the election and talks are going on between them. Sources say that the talks could fail and the BJP and TDP may contest the election.
