TS Bus fares hiked in all services
Despite the opposition threats to launch an agitation, the TRS government on Thusday hiked bus charges across all the services.
Under Palle Velugu, the hike is Re 1 for 30 km and Rs 2 beyond 30 km. With this, Pallle Velugu buses will now charge Rs 6 against Rs 5 for distances of 5 km.
The charges of deluxe, city and AC buses will be hiked by 10%. Express, deluxe, super luxury, Indra, Garuda and Garuda Plus buses will see a hike of 87 paise, 98 paise, Rs 1.16, Rs 1.46, Rs 1.71 and Rs 1.82, respectively.
Talking to the media, Minister Mahender Reddy said that Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao had agreed to the fare increases. The fare increase was unavoidable.
The increased fares will be effective from June 27. The people will have to bear a burden of Rs 287 crore per annum, according to the minister. Bus passes will also witness fare increases.
