VHP leader Ashok Singhal no more
Veteran Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Ashok Singhal passed away due to heart and kidney complications at a hospital here on Monday. He was 89.
Singhal, who was admitted to Medanta - The Medicity hospital here in Sector 38 on Friday night, was kept on life-support system in the Intensive Care Unit. He died at 2:30 pm, doctors said.
“Ashok Singhal, 89, who was admitted on November 14 in critical condition passed away at 2:30 pm. He had multi organ dysfunction, ARDS (Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome) and sepsis and was being treated by a team of specialists,” AK Dubey, Medical Superintendent of Medanta, said.
Suffering from cardiac and nephrological problems, the veteran leader had complained of breathlessness before being hospitalised.
According to doctors, he had not shown any sign of improvement while in hospital.
Singhal was referred to Medanta on October 20 and was discharged after he showed signs of improvement.
